Durham-based Marken isn’t just expanding locally, it’s also growing its footprint abroad.
In June, Marken – which was acquired by UPS last year – announced it was expanding into a new global headquarters in the Triangle. The following month, it moved into the new space at the Imperial Center, which is double the size of its previous space.
“Current global headcount is approaching 800 and we expected continued growth with appropriate hiring as the business continues to expand and clients increase,” a company spokeswoman said at the time.
Contributing to global growth, Marken has now entered Taiwan through its acquisition of Taipei-based logistics company Touchdown International. According to the company, the acquisition falls in line with its existing strategy to continue expansion in the Asia Pacific region and brings its global office count to 46.
