PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To provide sales leadership for the Company across the designated business for our products. To enable each product line to deliver its revenue growth and margin improvement plans, working in partnership with global business unit. This leader will focus on delivering best in class sales, service, and back-office support capabilities, enabling the Company to maximise its territory footprint.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
[REGIONAL LEADERSHIP]
Provide oversight for the teams employed out of all the sales and services offices across the region, pulling everyone together into one team with a shared sense of purpose and vision, shared incentives and a strong collaboration and communication ethos.
Provide clear and regular communications on regional and Group performance and strategy. Take the lead on decision making and conflict resolution to ensure the regional office provides a best-in- class support service for the business.
Build a culture of collaboration ensuring people and teams are developed so that they reach their full potential. Ensure development and succession plans are in place to ensure agility, growth, and business continuity.
As the senior leader in the region, build and maintain strategic alliances with key suppliers, distributors, vendors, advisors, partners, government, and community organisations.
[SHARED SERVICES LEADERSHIP]
Accountability for delivering and improving the business processes, systems, and capability required for sustained revenue growth and margin improvement. Continuously improve the quality, service, and efficiency of all Company operations in region, centralizing shared services where appropriate.
Ensure all sales and services offices across the region are operated safely and legally, with appropriate resources to maintain local and Group standards and policies.
Responsible for value adding, efficient and compliant financial and budget practices across the region.
Provide appropriate challenge and insights to ensure the right targets and objectives are set for regional shared services and business units.
Overall legal accountability for operations from the sales and services offices in region. Ensure the right processes and capabilities are in place and working effectively to adhere to relevant legal guidelines, reporting requirements, and policies.
Business review for banks and BDO should be completed within high professional standards.
[COMMERCIAL LEADERSHIP]
Manage, drive the system order target number, through excellent CRM deployment
Oversight of all sales and marketing processes in the region, holding local management teams to account on OIBS adherence, particularly CRM, Miller-Heiman, SPIN selling, Five Stage Forecasting system adoption and use and performance against targets, driving sales and service territory optimization alongside cross selling competence and performance.
Senior partner to the BU Country Managers in identifying and developing in region key account, channel partner and OEM partner relationships. Lead our engagement with relevant external funding bodies, government entities, Key opinion leaders and regulatory bodies.
Drive segment strategy across the product lines through co-ordination of the BU sales teams to identify and address regional tier 2 segment opportunities by working as one Company.
Consultant to the BU Managing Directors/ Presidents to contribute to the development and execution of regional growth plans for each business unit, setting regional budgets and targets and advising on local value pricing and discounting strategy.
Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality annual marketing communications plans to include events and activities across the region in conjunction with the business product management and marketing teams. Own and build the brand in region.
Management of contracts made with customers, suppliers, and partners in region; supporting the Sales team to negotiate the terms and conditions in contracts, ensuring compliance, documenting, and agreeing on any changes or amendments that arise during their implementation or execution.
Responsible for balance sheet/P&L of the Business.
[SERVICES LEADERSHIP]
Provide leadership to the new cross business unit Services Delivery team. Work closely with the new Head of Regional Services to establish the capabilities, process, and infrastructure to maximise services revenue and margin in the region.
Establish e store capabilities for the region and drive uptake through targeted digital marketing campaigns.
Work closely with business unit Services Directors and Managing Directors to build the service delivery and sales “engine” for the region such that it meets the strategic goals of the business units.
Develop a comprehensive benchtop repair centre and spares logistics capability to support the services businesses operating in the region.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
[EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS]
A Bachelor’s Degree. A degree in science or engineering would be an advantage for customer facing aspects, but not essential.
[EXPERIENCES]
15+ years of work experience including 3+ years’ experience in leadership, management, sales, or services.
Experience of operating effectively in a complex, multinational, (probably technology) matrixed organisation.
Experience evaluating contractual documents
[SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE]
Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow.
Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners and employees.
Working knowledge of latest business policies and regulations
Pragmatic and comfortable with ambiguity
Proven leadership capability
Initiative-taking entrepreneur, with a ‘can-do’ attitude
Keen analytical mind and ability to combine with business & commercial insight
Excellent written and verbal communication
Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
Speaking and understanding Japanese Language is a plus
[PROFESSIONAL SKILLS / ABILITIES]
The ideal candidate will have experience in Raman instrumentation and applications
At least 4 years’ experience in field selling, preferably in Academic Research
